Dear Readers,

We are Elf Society, a group of amateur translators who are hoping to send messages from the future of industrial animal farming. Most of the materials we are translating are from the US, Europe and other developed nations. However, we deemed these resources the most important to young Vietnamese readers. Since, it will be our future if we do not have the according knowledge and actions.

ELF SOCIETY
Who are we?

Growing up in the world of industrialization, modernization and globalization, and to be born in a peaceful country, we understand that we are at a very privileged position. The world’s quick and constant developments have allowed many of us (ourselves included) to have a full stomach on a daily basis. But we cannot deny that there are still many less fortunate lives who do not have what we take for granted. So we are not here to criticized those who went before us, and those to are trying hard to bring meat to others.

As Vietnamese, having enjoyed one of the world’s best cuisine for years, we also understand that food from animal products are an important part of our culture. Families re-uniting around a boiled chicken and trưng cake with pork filling during the Lunar New Year; a pot of stew fish that grandma woke up early to make, so her grandkid can have it for breakfast; a steaming bowl of beef phở, or hủ tiếu after a long day of labor. Those foods connect people. They are also the much deserving rewards that we all deserve after the challenges that life constantly throws at us. Of course, we are not here to criminalize such a beautiful thing.

So, what are we doing?

We believe that everyone deserves the truth. What they decide to do with that truth is up to them. We are here to deliver information sources that we think more people should know about.

We are privileged people. This world, this country, this society has given us so much. We wanted to give back something, though small.

Love,

Elf Society team.
